Azerbaijan, Georgia to create joint electronic database


Azerbaijan and Georgia will jointly digitalize periodically printed materials. The two countries have agreed to jointly implement the project on the creation of an electronic database of digital printed materials.
 
The database will contain complete sets of newspapers and magazines that were published in Baku and Tbilisi during the period from 1918 to 1920, which covers the first years of independence of both countries. The agreement was reached at the national libraries level.
 
According to information provided by Azerbaijan National Library, under the project, digital versions of all the periodicals, which were published in Baku and Tbilisi during 1918 – 1920 years, will be available to readers on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the Republic of Georgia. The website will operate independently in the Azerbaijani, Georgian and English languages.
