World’s first thermal camera smartphone launched

The Bullitt has announced the world's first smartphone with a built-in thermal imaging camera.
Thermal imaging cameras usually detect radiation in the long-infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum and produce images of that radiation, called thermograms.

Since infrared radiation is emitted by all objects with a temperature above absolute zero according to the black body radiation law, thermography makes it possible to see one's environment with or without visible illumination.

Model S60 is a line of gadgets under the brand of Cat. Thermal imaging module for the device supplied by the company FLIR Systems, specializing in thermal systems. Smartphone displays thermal images on screen in real time at a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels.

Cat S60 is designed, for example, for use in rescue operations — in case you want to look for people under the leaves or in heavy smoke.

In addition, the gadget can withstand drops of up to 1.8 meters and immersion in water to a depth of 5 meters. Admission Cat S60 on sale is expected in late May 2016, at a price of $ 599.
