Trade union activists of communication enterprises take part in ‘The role of women in civil society’ workshop


A workshop on "The role of women in civil society; building the image of a woman leader" has been held as part of the program titled "Gender knowledge and technology school" (GBTM).

The GBTM program, adopted by the decision of the 3rd Assembly of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation dated December 28, 2004, aims at involving actively the employees of enterprises and organizations in trade union activities, increasing their gender knowledge, improving women’s leadership skills, forming a mobile group of trade union trainers, and increasing the motivation for trade union membership.

The first and second stages of the 3-stage program have already been implemented. The workshop on "The role of women in civil society; building the image of a woman leader" was organised at the end of the second stage for program participants. Upon completion of the workshop, the participants were awarded certificates.

The workshop was attended by head of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation’s Department of Analytical Research on Cultural and Social Problems of Workers Namig Huseynov, chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Union Republican Committee of Culture Workers  Jamila Satarova, chairman of the Independent Trade Union Republican Committee of Communication Workers Seymour Orujov, and  trade union activists of communication enterprises.
