Skinterface - tactile suit for virtual reality

What’s it like to feel what is happening in the virtual reality of your skin? Question interested a group of graduate students at London’s Royal College of art, and they began developing the project “Skinterface” – suit, which allows the user to literally feel the objects from the virtual world, interacting with it through tactile sensations.

“Virtual gaming experience is still very limited, “said Charlotte Furet, developer Skinterface” now we are very limited to only images and sound, but for immersive and vivid gaming experience need more. Tactile-sensations and not enough.”

The prototype is ready, now its creators actively demonstrate the development, allowing to try to play everyone interactive sleeve, equipped with special movable magnet responsive to the sounds of the game. Creating an alternating electromagnetic field, the magnets and provide the user with a tactile perception of the game.
