Abbyy Real-Time Recognition allows smartphones to recognize text from surfaces of various objects

ABBYY introduced a real-time Recognition technology solution that allows using mobile devices "On the fly" extract information not only from documents, but also from the surfaces of various items – labels, counters, car numbers, monitor screens, passports, transport bills, payment orders.

Thanks to ABBYY Real-Time Recognition, the user just needs to point the camera of the smartphone to the text to extract all the necessary information. The system allows you to instantly recognize the text on documents or surrounding objects from a "live" video stream without taking photos and without accessing external servers, which significantly reduces the risk of leakage of sensitive data.

Using third-party SDK tools, third-party developers can embed new ABBYY technology into their Android and iOS applications, which can be used to solve various tasks – from automated data entry to the optimization of internal business -processes of enterprises. Real-Time Recognition can recognize texts in 63 languages, which allows you to create software products for international organizations. In addition, the SDK can be used in applications for traveling abroad – for example, for the instant translation of menus, signage and road signs to popular foreign languages.

According to ABBYY, the technology of data recognition in the video stream Real-Time Recognition can find wide application in many areas: in banking, insurance, retail, hotel business, telecommunications. Additional information about the novelty can be found on the website abbyy.com/real-time-recognition-sdk .
