Azerbaijan National Internet Award NETTY 2017 has started
Azerbaijan National Internet Award NETTY 2017 has started. This is already the 13th NETTY contest, which is being held with the all-round support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Acceptance of applications for participation in the Award is carried out at the website "www.netty.az". Under the terms of the contest, acceptance of applications for the registration of websites and participants will continue from April 3 to May 15, 2017.
From May 15 to May 22, the Expert Council and the Virtual Jury will hold a parallel voting to determine the nominees of NETTY 2017.
On May 22, based on the results of this voting (the Expert Council selects three nominees for each award category and the Virtual Jury selects three nominees from the total number of participants for the nomination "Virtual Jury's Choice" ), the NETTY Academy will hold a voting to determine a single winner for each of the existing nominations.
Within this period a voting on non-competitive and incentive honorary nominations will be also held.
The winners of NETTY 2017 nominations will receive the main prize (the "Netty" figurine) at an official awarding ceremony. The awarding ceremony will be attended by all award nominees. The date and place of the ceremony will be announced later.
Any visitor of the website "www.netty.az" can become a member of the Virtual Jury and participate in the selection of nominees using information from his Facebook or Twitter profile.
Expert Council is formed via the personal invitation of the Organizing Committee of the Award.
The Netty Academy is represented by influential people working in the public, government and business structures.
Traditionally, the contest will announce the best sites in Azerbaijan in the following nominations: "Azerbaijan", "The state website", "Education and science", "Art and culture", "Society", "Information and news", "Service website", "Corporate website", "The best website in the field of e-commerce", "Sports", "Personal website", "Virtual Jury’s choice".
The nomination "Entertainment" was cancelled this year. At the same time, two new social networks – related nominations ("Man of the Year in social networks" and "The Company of the Year in social networks) were included in the contest.
The winners of the honorary nominations "Program of the Year", "Enrichment of development of national information technologies" and "IT Event of the Year" will be also awarded within the contest.
Based on the results of analysis of applications of the nominees for the "IT Event of the Year" nomination, the winners of "The Company of the Year" nomination will be identified as well.
The nomination "IT Manager of the Year" is included in this year’s contest in order to identify the best managers of IT departments in the country (regardless of the organization's sphere of activity).
Note that by the decision of the Academy, those who wish to participate in NETTY 2017 contest must pay a registration fee in the amount of 10 AZN. The registration fee for all major nominations of the award is 10 AZN for each application. The payment is carried out only after the approval of the registration by the Organizing Committee.
The company "Azercell" is the chief partner of the Award. The exhibition "Bakutel", the companies "SmartHost.az" and "Renley.az" and the project "Kassir.az" are partners of the contest.
NETTY 17 is being held with the informational support of "Infocity.az" and "CBC.az" TV channels and "1news.az", "Oxu.az", "Disput.az" and "Salamnews.org" websites.
NETTY Award is Azerbaijan’s first professional award in the field of information technologies, which was launched in 2004 to promote the national segment of the World Wide Web and the IT market as a whole. The contest is held annually to award Azerbaijan’s best websites and identify the individuals who have contributed to the development of the information technologies field.
