The 3-day exhibition has brought together key public transport authorities and commercial organizations engaged in the rail sector, maritime industry, aviation, commercial vehicles and transport & logistics services.

88 companies from 14 countries are participating at this year’s TransCaspian/Translogistica exhibition, with new companies comprising 30% of the total number of participants.

Along with commercial companies, state transport structures such as CJSC Azerbaijan Railways, Baku International Sea Trade Port, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, the State Maritime Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, "Ukrzaliznytsa" Ukrainian Railways and their subsidiaries, CJSC "Astrakhan Sea Port" and others are taking part at the TransCaspian/Translogistica 2017 exhibition.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade expressed his gratitude to the organizers and partners of the event.

He said that along with displaying the latest technologies and innovations, this year's exhibition serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and establishing new partnerships.

"As a result of the effective state policy, which is being conducted under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev towards the development and modernization of the transport sector, the volume of cargo and passenger traffic in the railway, air and water transport has increased. Huge investments have been made in the creation of a reliable and modern transit infrastructure. And today, this infrastructure enables us to turn these investments into profits.

Playing the role of a bridge between East and West, Azerbaijan is regarded as one of the main transit partners in the world. At present, the largest seaport is being built on the Caspian Sea.

Creation of a special free economic zone near the seaport offers wide opportunities for investing in our country.

A lot of work is ahead of us.

I believe that we will successfully fulfil all the tasks set before us", Ramin Guluzade said.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Executive Director of the company ITE Group Edward Stroon stressed the importance of the TransCaspian exhibition, which has taken a rightful place among the international exhibitions held in Azerbaijan.

He expressed his deep gratitude to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the Baku Transport Agency, the State Maritime Administration and TRACECA project and wished the exhibition participants fruitful work.
