Azercosmos employees climb Heydar Peak


As part of a series of events dedicated to the 94th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the employees of Azercosmos OJSC have made a successful ascent to the Heydar Peak.    
 
They started their ascent to the Heydar Peak, which is located in Qizil Qaya massif of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range at a height of 3751 meters above sea level, on foot from Khinalıq village – the highest residential area in Azerbaijan.
 
After reaching the summit, the participants of the ascent paid tribute to the memory of the great leader and had their picture taken in front of Heydar Aliyev’s bas-relief.

Its resources allow the company to be well-equipped and hence handle emerging technologies along with creating an added value for the population that is beyond the reach of the terrestrial networks in benefiting from the satellite-based services. Strategic development plans of the company include enhancing the coverage area and spectrum of services by launching the second telecommunications satellite Azerspace-2 at 45° East longitude in 2017 and a very high resolution optical Earth observation satellite in upcoming years.
