Robot-bin B.A.R.Y.L. will clean stations

Experts from Gares & Connexions, specializing in maintaining the cleanliness of the French railway stations, jointly with engineers from Immersive Robotics, created a robotic bin that will monitor the cleanliness of premises. The gadget was named B.A.R.Y.L.

B.A.R.Y.L. moves within the territory of the station in an arbitrary direction, advising all visitors to the station to throw garbage into the bin. The robot is equipped with artificial intelligence, which allows the machine to scan people and identify those who want to get rid of garbage. B.A.R.Y.L. has built-in sensors that monitor the overfill of the electronic trash can.

When the robot- bin understands that the amount of waste has reached the threshold, the device returns to the base, where it is emptied and reentered into the platform. The steel case of the bin is equipped with a pair of wheels for movement and a light-emitting LED backlight of blue color, so that passengers could throw out garbage exactly into the bin, DNI24 reports.
