Scientists created a miniature robot that can be implanted in the human body

The idea of creating microbots that would "live" in the human body and monitor health status every year seems less and less fantastic. After all, there are many ready-made prototypes, some of which have even successfully passed the stage of clinical trials.

Recently, a group of scientists from the United States, China and Israel presented a video with a microbot that can be introduced into the human body.

A miniature "doctor" consists of three gold pieces, each five micrometers in length. All parts are connected together by loops of silver.

It should be said that the demonstrated robot is only a test sample, on the basis of which in the future it is planned to create microbots for targeted delivery of drugs (that is, directly to the "sore spot").

Already, the robot is able to reach speeds of up to 5.5 micrometers per second. The movement of the microbot is regulated by a magnetic field. Now the robot is covered with inert materials, but the next versions of the device must become biodegradable.

As reported by the developers, the first versions of robots for medical institutions should appear within the next five years, and they will be designed to deliver drugs on the urinary ways.
