Citizens can now pay utility bills with their smart cards at around 400 post offices

Azerpost LLC, which has the largest network of services in Azerbaijan, along with traditional postal services, provides population with money transaction services and utility payment services through its post offices and post branch offices.

Due to lack of branch banks and payment terminals in remote rural areas, local residents experienced difficulties in paying their gas bills.  To solve this problem, Azerpost provided its post branch offices with 300 more smart card readers.

Presently, citizens can pay their gas bills with the use of a smart card at 128 post offices located in regions and 171 post offices located in Baku.  At the same time, citizens can pay their electricity bills with their smart cards at 162 post offices located throughout the country.

Azerpost will continue taking measures to provide residents of remote rural areas with high quality utility payment services.
