Integral Memory unveils biggest micro SD card yet

Good news for all the media hoarders out there, British company Integral Memory has unveiled the world's first 512GB microSD card. And it works with your Android devices, provided your device supports a high capacity card.

The new card meets the Video Speed Class 10 (V10) standard, that allows fast data transfer and full HD video captures on devices faster and more reliable.

“Consumers have been clear in their call for increased storage, as mobile devices have become essential to many in everyday life,” said James Danton, marketing manager of Integral Memory, to Business Wire.

“The need to provide extended memory for smartphones, tablets and a growing range of other mobile devices such as action cams and drones has been answered. As a company, we are very proud to be the first to achieve the 512GB capacity milestone in microSDXC, worldwide," he added.

Previously SanDisk’s 400GB card held the record of biggest storage provided in an SD card. However, Integral Memory's new card can only provide top transfer speeds of 80MB/s compared to SanDisk's 100MB/s.

The new SD card is expected to hit the market in February, and Integral Memory hasn't revealed the price yet.
