Windows 10 has experienced the sharpest decline in the market share of computer operating systems, the ComputerWorld magazine reports citing the NetMarketShare service (it studies the activity of more than 160 million unique users viewing over 40,000 websites worldwide).

In March 2018, Windows 10 was installed on 33.3% of personal computers on a global scale. Compared with the previous month, there was a decline of 0.8 percentage points, which had never been before. During the first 24 hours, the OS was installed on 14 million devices, and in three weeks - on 53 million computers. In September 2016, Microsoft reported about 400 million copies of the "dozens." The mark of half a billion was reached in May 2017.

According to NetMarketShare, the most popular operating system for desktops and laptops is Windows 7, whose share in the third calendar month of 2018 reached 43.4%. The index of Windows 8.1 was 5.5%, in the asset of Windows XP - 4.6%, according to Dailycomm.ru.
