Police drones monitor compliance with traffic rules in China

Four multicopters have officially entered the police service in the Chinese city of Jinan, in Shandong Province. The drones will record traffic violations, such as the use of mobile phones and tablets while driving.

Just half an hour after the beginning of the operation of the drones, five cases of using mobile phones when driving were detected.

An officer at the Jinan traffic police department, Wei Jiliang, said that a police air force was specially created for this project, whose experimental activity will continue for three months.

According to him, photos of offenses taken by unmanned aerial vehicles can effectively solve problems connected with the collection of evidence, www.belta.by reports.
