Dear participants of the conference, ladies and gentlemen,
Let me welcome all participants of the 24th Azerbaijan International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies Exhibition and Conference – Bakutel 2018.
The Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications has developed a good tradition to participate annually in Bakutel international exhibitions and conferences with the involvement of a wide range of representatives of government, regulation, science, international organizations and major companies from the RCC countries, as well as from other countries of the world.
This significant international event, the traditional participant of which is the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications, represents a platform for demonstrating and discussing the most relevant and important aspects of the development of infocommunications, including telecommunication networks, broadband technologies, satellite communications, radio and TV broadcasting, information technologies, security systems, e-government, e-business and more.
At the same time, the holding of such an international event on an annual basis contributes to the exchange of experience, the establishment of new contacts and the development of conceptual approaches to the solution of the tasks posed in the construction of the digital economy, in the field of communication and informatization.
Today, the level of development and widespread use of information and communication technologies plays a key role in the development of the digital economy of our region and increasing the competitiveness of the RCC countries. It also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, the efficiency of public administration and to the expansion of interaction between the state, citizens and business. In this regard, the annual international exhibition Bakutel clearly demonstrates to the participants the successful and progressive development of ICT in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Providing access to modern facilities through broadband Internet access, switching to digital television and introducing fourth-generation mobile networks allow the Republic of Azerbaijan to take leading positions in the global information infrastructure.
The active participation of the Communications Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the international arena provides support to joint initiatives of participants of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications in major international forums: the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, the World Radiocommunication Conference, the World Telecommunication Development Conference, the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly, the UPU Congress.
At the same time, the Communications Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan is actively pursuing measures to implement the Sustainable Development Goals, which cover the entire spectrum of contemporary global problems of our society.
I am convinced that the professionalism of telecommunications workers of the Republic of Azerbaijan will contribute to improving welfare, strengthening the role of regional influence in a globalized world and the development of the telecommunications market in our days.
I would also like to express my confidence that today's exchange of experience will make it possible to find such solutions and proposals for the development of ICT that will significantly affect the development of the information society not only in the Republic of Azerbaijan, but also in the RCC as a whole.
Today’s event, which is attracting the attention of specialists, experts and industry professionals from many countries, is an important and relevant platform for demonstrating achievements in the field of telecommunication and information technologies. It also provides an opportunity to exchange experience, hold negotiations at various levels, and much more.
