Global ICT spending to reach $4.6 trillion in 2022
The next five years will not be easy for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, analysts at IDC warn.
According to IDC estimates, the global ICT expenditures on equipment, software, services and communications will increase by an average of 4% by 2022 and reach 4.6 trillion dollars. Commercial customers will account for about $ 2.9 trillion, or 63.5% of the estimated costs, and consumer spending will reach $ 1.7 trillion or 36.5%.
Among the ICT categories, the fastest growing costs will be in the professional services segment, including, among others, cloud and digital service providers, Dailycomm.ru reports.
