SPbSUT scientists developing sound-based data transfer protocol

Scientists from the Radio Communications & Broadcasting Department of the Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications (SPbSUT) are developing a sound-based data transfer protocol. It can be used for the work of IoT technology.

The new protocol allows the user to transfer software updates or any commands to the device through the loudspeaker.

It is not yet known how the technology will work and what engineers will use to transfer data.

Currently, 5G is considered to be the main network for transmitting data in the IoT technology, which many countries are just beginning to implement, Hightech.fm reports.
