Exhibitions TransCaspian/Translogistica 2019 and Road & Traffic 2019 open in Baku


The opening of the 18th Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics TransCaspian/Translogistica 2019 and 9th Caspian International Road Infrastructure and Public Transport Road & Traffic 2019 took place today in Baku Expo Center.
 
The opening ceremony of the events, which will last until June 13, was attended by Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade.
 
After welcoming the participants of the exhibition, the Minister said that in recent years, large-scale regional projects in the field of transport have been implemented on the personal initiative and with the support of President Ilham Aliyev. These projects contribute to the development of the transport sector, strengthening the transit potential of our country and ensuring transport security. The basis of this policy is the improvement of management, the introduction of information and communication technologies, and the formation of a healthy business environment.
 
Ramin Guluzade noted that all the work done towards creating a modern and functional transport system in our country in accordance with the “Azerbaijan 2020: Look into the Future” Development Concept, “Strategic Roadmap for Logistics and Trade Development” approved by relevant decrees and orders of the head of state, as well as other government programs.
 
The Minister also stressed that in recent years, a special attention has been given to the development of the non-oil sector, including the improvement of the work carried out in the transport sector in the country. A sustainable transport system based on innovative technologies is being developed in Azerbaijan. To this end, the necessary reforms are underway in this area, and management is being improved.
 
Then Minister Ramin Guluzade viewed the stands of the exhibitions.
 
At exhibitions, special attention was paid to local startups. Startups CanCarryou, Comrade, Mobile Business Cars, Your Trade Way, Thermonorth, Cardoctor, Yolget, HotelRace and Bike Messenger were presented.
 
The State Maritime Agency is also represented at the exhibition with its stand reflecting the agency’s activities.
 
Within the framework of the event, a forecast project on the topic of “New stage of car transportation by road” on the activities of the State Road Transport Service was presented to the exhibition participants.
 
At the presentation, it was noted that according to statistics, 149 million 205 thousand tons of cargo and 1 billion 766 million 470 thousand passengers were transported by road in the country in 2018. Roughly 65% of all cargo transported by all modes of transport (including pipeline transport) in the country and some 88% of passengers were transported by road transport.
 
It was noted that comprehensive measures are being taken in the country to expand the network of bus terminals and bus stations, and to improve the existing infrastructure.
 
Reconstruction work was carried out on the territory of the Baku International Bus Terminal Complex in order to ensure safe, convenient and orderly movement of buses, cars, taxis, as well as passengers and tourists, and the largest transportation hub in the CIS area was put into operation on April 15 this year. As a continuation of these events, a new bus station will soon be commissioned in Lokbatan settlement.
 
A video showing the previous and present appearance of the transport hub was shown to the visitors.
 
Furthermore, the new website of the Baku International Bus Terminal Complex, which features functionality and contains more information, was presented. A video showing the use rules of the site and online ticketing process was shown.
 
Along with the site, the mobile application Android and IOS was also presented for the users of Baku International Bus Station Complex.
 
Note that the exhibitions are officially supported by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Permanent Secretariat of Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AEC), the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and the Agency for Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The exhibition is organized by Caspian Event Organizers.
