Minister Ramin Guluzade held bilateral meetings with ITU Secretary-General and Iranian Minister


Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade held a bilateral meeting with Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Houlin Zhao, who is visiting our country.
 
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the activities of our country as a member of the ITU Council – the highest governing body of the organization and the possibilities for further cooperation with it.
 
The sides have signed an agreement on a regional initiative project. Under the agreement, the ICT Applying and Training Center (ICT LAB) of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies will implement a project called “Multimedia online course and development of a web portal for women in IT field for 2020–2021” with the financial support of the ITU.
 
The project will make a significant contribution to the development of digital training for women and girls. As a result of the project, an online portal will be created and interactive multimedia courses will be held here in Azerbaijani language. Women who complete the courses will be awarded ITU online certificate. The main objective of the project is to support women anywhere in our country in building a career in ICT, in particular in programming. At the same time, women who participate in free online courses will be able to freely attend online courses in the training centers of the ICT Applying and Training Center, operating in 19 regions of the country. Online trainings will begin in 2020.
 
Ramin Guluzade also held a meeting with Minister of Information and Communications Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi. During the meeting, Ramin Guluzade stressed the importance of the participation of 15 Iranian companies and startups in the 25th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies Exhibition Bakutel 2019.
 
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on coordinating the use of radio frequencies in border areas, as well as prospects for cooperation in the field of innovation and development of startup ecosystem between the two countries.
