Baktelecom commissioned optical network meeting modern standards in Icherisheher reserve

Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies has completed the construction of an optical network in the State Historical and Architectural Reserve Icherisheher.

Within the framework of the project “Fiber to the Home”, Azeurotel, the telecommunications operator of Baktelecom, has laid a 15 km long fiber-optic line in the reserve.

About 1,500 apartments in Icherisheher reserve are provided with multimedia and telephony services via one optical line. As in other places where the “Fiber to the Home” project is being implemented, here the internet equipment supporting the service was also provided to users for free.

Note that the work is carried out on the basis of GPON technology (Gigabit Passive Optical Network), which is the most modern internet connection. This technology guarantees stable speed and allows using one cable to connect several communication services at once.

It should be noted that Baktelecom is currently carrying out the construction of an optical network in old and new buildings, as well as residential areas consisting of private houses in the capital and surrounding areas.
