Baktelecom starts to provide optical telecom services in Hovsan settlement

Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies started to provide telephone, Internet and TV services to Hovsan residents within the framework of the project “Fiber to the Home”. An optical network with a capacity of 1800 numbers has been installed in Gushchulug housing area in the settlement. Currently, work is underway to connect 1200 apartments to broadband services. The work done fully meets the demand for telecommunications services in the area. When establishing the network, the possibility of expanding the residential area and increasing the number of residents in the future was also taken into account.

In addition, the construction of fiber-optic lines that meet modern standards was launched in Hovsan village, Baghlar and Zeytunluq areas. After the reconstruction work, residents will be provided with quality telecommunications services.

Hovsan settlement is fully included in the coverage area of the “Fiber to the Home” project. Baktelecom plans to gradually launch a network with a capacity of 15,000 numbers in the area.

It should be noted that an optical network with a capacity of 230,000 users has been created in Baku and surrounding areas within the project “Fiber to the Home”. Through this network, 130,000 apartments have already been connected to modern optical services. The network is based on GPON (Gigabyte Passive Optical Network) technology, which is the most advanced Internet connection. This technology not only guarantees a stable speed, but also allows providing telephone, Internet and TV services through one line.
