Within the framework of the visit to Azerbaijan, representatives of Mexican Space Agency held wide meeting at Azercosmos OJSC.
The delegation led by the Director General of Mexican Space Agency (AEM) Javier Mendieta was informed about the history, goals and activity directions, forthcoming plans of Azercosmos, coverage of the first telecommunication satellite, to be put into the orbit at the end of 2012, and the types of services to be rendered by the satellite, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan reported.
After some speeches related to the activity of the Mexican Space Agency, the parties discussed further cooperation perspectives and exchanged views on cooperation opportunities.
Cooperation between the Mexican Space Agency and Azercosmos in the development of human resources and cadre potential in the country in connection with the creation of a satellite industry in Azerbaijan was discussed.
The leadership of the Mexican Space Agency welcomed all proposals on cooperation, announced that they are interested in establishing close ties with Azerbaijan, which has become a leading country in the region.
