The Ministry of Communications & IT stated that until 2015 it is planned to complete realization of program “Fiber to Home” aimed to bring broadband and fiber-optic communication lines to each house of Azerbaijan.
According to the statement of the Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov, preliminary estimates show that the cost of the program is $342 million, and it will be funded by 40% due to reinvestment. High profitability of the program enables to predict such a level of reinvestment.
According to the minister, in Turkey Fiber to Home will be implemented by 2018, and the cost of the program is estimated at $35 billion.
“Fiber to Home will allow transfer to a new scheme of provision of information services - combined services of IP-telephony, IP-TV and radio," he said.
