The Azerbaijani team first competed with the host team Sariyer Municipality and was able to beat the latter by a score of 3 to 1. Telecom Baku also won the next match with Besiktas JK by a score of 3 to 0 and consequently took the 1st place in the “A” group.
The first place in the “B” group was taken by Eczacibasi SK, which consisted of the world volleyball stars. Eczacibasi SK defeated Canakkala and Halkbank by the same score of 3 to 0. Telecom Baku competed with Canakkala, which had taken the 2nd place in the “B” group, at the semi-final match. The Azerbaijani team displayed high professionalism in this match and beat Canakkala by a score of 3 to 0. During the other semi-final match, Eczacibasi SK defeated Besiktas JK by a score of 3 to 2. After winning Besiktas JK by a score of 3 to 0, Canakkala took the 3rd place in the tournament.
Telecom Baku and Eczacibasi SK competed with each other during the final match of the 5th Bosphorus International Volleyball Tournament. Telecom Baku consisting mainly of young players lost to Eczacibasi SK, which is considered the best women’s volleyball team in the world. Thus, Eczacibasi SK, which had won Telecom Baku by a score of 3 to 0, became the winner of the tournament. And Telecom Baku took the 2nd place in the 5th Bosphorus International Volleyball Tournament.
The Azerbaijani team consisted of the following volleyball players: Yelizaveta Samedova, Ulker Karimova, Olena Hasanova, Yana Azimova, Margarita Azizova, Anastasiya Baidiuk, Anastasiya Bezsonova, Aleksandra Petrovich, Mariya Filipova, Jovana Vesovich, Kseniya İvanovich, Sladjana Mirkovich and Gabriela Koeva.
Telecom Baku takes the 2nd place in international volleyball tournament
The volleyball team "Telecom Baku", which performs under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, represented Azerbaijan at the 5th Bosphorus International Volleyball Tournament.
