Works on construction of Azerbaijani segment of TAE (Trans-Asia-Europe) fiber optic cable line are underway. According to information provided by PA “Aztelekom”, the works on connection to the TAE main cable line in Masalli direction of Yardimli communication are nearing completion.
Let’s note that previously the regional communication connected to DLD and ILD communications through Lerik, but that was not sufficient.
After introducing this novelty, residents of Yardimli will have an opportunity to use high quality communication services.
Let’s remind that in order to execute this Grand Project Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey signed a trilateral protocol on October 21, 1999. On October 1 of the same year, construction of Azerbaijani segment of TAE main cable line started.
The overland part of the construction completed in 2001, and in the same year communication channels between Baku and Tbilisi switched to the fiber optic cable line.
