During the plenary session of the symposium, the chairman of the National Nuclear Research Centre academician Adil Garibov made a presentation on the topic: “Radiation defects in solids and their effective utilization”.
In his presentation, the academician touched upon the practical aspects of issues relating to such areas as fundamental and fusion energy, the safety of water-cooled nuclear reactors and material engineering. He also informed the gathering about the results of scientific and research activities that had been conducted in the stated areas.
Then, the rector the National University of Uzbekistan and the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the symposium professor A.R. Marahimov made a proposal to conclude an agreement on scientific cooperation, the initial draft of which have already been prepared.
During the symposium, more than 13 plenary and about 30 sectional reports were made.
Also, within the event, discussions of important scientific issues pertaining to the relevant areas were held with the participation of scientists from Japan, Korea, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, India and China. In addition to that, a decision was made on establishing and strengthening scientific ties between the stated countries.
It should be noted that the symposium is a very important event in terms of the approbation of research results, integration into the world science, familiarization with new trends and results, expansion of scientific cooperation and organization of scientific and technological activities.
National Nuclear Research Centre represented at international symposium in Uzbekistan
