The "Baku Telephone Communication" production association at the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry has developed two packages for time-based fees of fixed telephone lines, production association director general Beytulla Huseynov told on Wednesday.
"The first package should maintain the existing monthly fee of 2 manat, which will include 450 minutes of talk time," Huseynov said, and that the second package would include unlimited communication for 5 manats.
"Using a time-based fee for the fixed telephone lines does not pursue a specific goal of increasing the rates for telecommunications services," he said.
"It provides a number of advantages and benefits for subscribers. For example, despite a debt for long distance calls, a subscriber's telephone line will not be closed."
Moreover, subscribers may also be automatically connected to multimedia services. At present, the system is already used in fixed line services of Europe and some CIS countries, Huseynov said.
