The implementation of the TAE project was previously agreed by a tripartite protocol signed between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey on October 21, 1999. The construction of the TAE Azerbaijani segment was launched in December 1999.
The working plan involves laying the Gadabay Shamkir cable line to connect all the surrounding villages to this network. This will significantly improve the quality of telecommunication services rendered by the operator.
Operations are also underway to connect the Yardimli and Neftchala telecommunication units to the TAE. After the Dashkasan telecommunication unit is connected, Azerbaijan became one of the first countries to join the CIS and all regional centers will be connected to the TAE.
