Works are being implemented in our country to bring the communication system to the level of international standards through introduction of modern technologies.
The associations and organizations, that became a part of the Communication and IT Ministry structure in 2011, have invested 144.5 mn. for his purpose. In all, 415 mn. manats were invested into the sector last year, which makes 3,2% of the total investment made into the country’s economy. 246.4 mn. manats of the total investment were invested into the sector by mobile operators, 144.5 mn. manats – by the associations and organizations, which joined the Communications and IT Ministry’s structure.
15 ATCs were reconstructed, 60 new ATCs were put into operation, 22 ATCs were expanded during the reporting period within various investment projects aimed at the steady development of the telecommunication sector, introduction of new technologies, providing of high quality and stable telephone communication.
As a result of the implemented works the mounting capacity of the whole telephone network of the republic has increased by 49,896 numbers, and made up 1,717,196 numbers.
