A live Twitter conference is underway in the Center for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijani President.The moderator Rustam Aliyev greeted the conference participants and briefed them on about the event.
He talked about importance of internet TV channels and radio stations. In turn, Director of APA news agency Vusala Mahirqizi noted that it is mature to say that internet media in Azerbaijan has left the printed press behind. She added that commercials on newspapers in Russia and U.S. cost much more than those posted on internet media.
Secretary General of Irali public Union Rauf Mardiyev said in his remarks that before people used to look for news while news find people themselves now. Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov said the traditional journalism is losing its dominant position and that there are over 2,000 bloggers in Azerbaijan at present.
