Users in Azerbaijan will be able to register .az domains in the electronic form, Deputy minister of Communications and IT Elmir Valizadeh said.
According to Valizadeh, approaches to managing of the administration of domain in different countries differ from each other.
"We have not introduced the system of online-registration of the domain yet. It is for obvious reasons. For example, the domain is not granted to foreigners or representation of foreign companies offices on the territory of Azerbaijan," he said.
As for the cost of a domain, then, according to Deputy Minister, there is a concept of economic efficiency.
"Any project must be economically viable, even if it does not take into account the question of its profitability. Costs should be covered. If it is a social project, it should have external funding. Due to the fact that it is a business project, it must be economically
viable," Valizadeh said.

Department considered the possibility of issuing a digital signature in the short term, but, this option is not advisable so far, Valizadeh added. The deputy minister also cited the example of the cost of Internet services, which in his opinion, can not decrease forever.
Valizadeh noted that there are certain costs that, in any event must be covered, regardless of the number of users.
