Azerbaijani Golden Pay company, operating as a system integrator, has been chosen to deal with the technical side of the system.
At present, acceptance of electronic payments is implemented at 57 district offices of the State Committee. In addition, a number of other government agencies of Azerbaijan in the near future will provide online payment services through its online resources.
Initially, the online payment services will be available on the webpages of the State Migration Service, the State Committee for Standardisation Metrology and Patents, the Ministry of Economic Development, the State Property Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Maritime Administration and the State Administration of Civil Aviation.
"It is expected to hold discussions on the organisation of online payment from the Ministry of Ecology and the State Statistical Committee in the near future," the company said.
"The work is being carried out within the 'Electronic Government' project and is expected to be launched this week. Electronic payments will be available on the webpages of state institutions, on the Electronic government (ehdis.az) portal and webpage hesab.az. People will be able to pay duties, fines, licencing fees in the online format. This is an effective tool to combat corruption," the company added.
The company is negotiating with municipal agencies about the possibility of using electronic payment systems. All the state institutions of the republic will be connected to this service ultimately.
