E-trade growing in Azerbaijan
Internet trading in Azerbaijan had turnover of AZN 417,100 ($530,000) in the first half of the year, with AZN 98,000 ($124,000) in June alone. The vast majority – 99.5% – of goods sold through the Internet are non-food items, according to the State Statistical Committee. Work is under way to encourage e-trading in Azerbaijan, the committee told, and 37 trade and service enterprises are now using e-trade. Most of the sales of consumer goods via the net, 96%, were carried out by legal entities, while 4% fell to individuals.Views: 870
