German cartel office to extend probe into Liberty
Germany's Federal Cartel Office said Wednesday it will probably extend its probe of the proposed acquisition of German cable network operator Kabel Baden-Wuerttemberg by Liberty Global Inc. until November because of the complexity of the case. This doesn't mean Liberty won't be allowed to buy the company, a cartel office spokeswoman said.In June, the European Commission handed the investigation over to the German authorities.
