Nominees for Azerbaijan National Internet Award “NETTY 2016”, which is being held with the all-round support of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, have been identified. Based on the results of a voting by the Experts Board and the Virtual Jury, the nominees (web-sites, applications and IT projects) for the award were selected from the list of participating websites.
The Award Academy has already started a voting to determine the winners of the contest. Based on the results of an internal voting by representatives of the Academy, one winner will be selected for each of the 16 categories. The names of the selected winners will be announced at the official award ceremony on May 20. Representatives of all nominee websites will be invited to the ceremony.
Based on the decision of the Academy, the winners in the honorary nominations “The enrichment of the development of national information technologies” and “The IT event of the year” will be announced. Also, a ceremony of awarding the winners in the nominations “The best applications for mobile devices” and “Network selection” will be held.
Note that NETTY Award is Azerbaijan’s first professional award in the field of information technologies, which was launched in 2004 to promote the national segment of the World Wide Web and the IT market as a whole. The contest is held annually to award Azerbaijan’s best websites and identify the individuals who have contributed to the development of the information technologies field.
