A few months back, Instagram launched a function allowing users to request inappropriate comments be removed.
Now, in a bid to make the social platform a more positive place, Instagram will soon allow users to completely disable comments on individual posts.
Yesterday saw Insta CEO, Kevin Systrom, post a list of changes that'll be coming to the app.
“We’ll soon add a way to turn off comments on any post. Sometimes there may be moments when you want to let your post stand on its own. Previously this was only available for a small number of accounts. In a few weeks, it will be available for everyone,” he wrote.
The changes will also introduce the ability to like and reply to individual comments, much like Facebook.
The app is also continuing to pursue safety and mental health protection for its users, following the recent announcement of anonymous reporting for self-injury posts.
