Not much is known at this point, but Microsoft uses the #MicrosoftEDU hashtag in the invite, which could be a hint that the company is using this event to unveil its latest efforts aimed at the education sector.
With several sources hinting at the unveiling of Windows 10 Cloud, there’s a good chance that Microsoft would introduce this operating system as a platform for the education sector, with the company working with partners on developing devices running it.
This means that Microsoft is trying to bring more affordable devices to the market to conquer the education sector, and Windows 10 Cloud is the first step in this direction.
In addition to Windows 10 Cloud, Microsoft is also expected to unveil some new hardware products, including the Surface Pro 5, though it’s not yet clear if the device is ready for launch or not.
According to the latest rumors in this regard, the Surface Pro 5 is unlikely to be a major upgrade over its predecessor, and only minor improvements are expected, such as 4K screen, more RAM and storage, but little in terms of form factor and design. The Surface Book 2, which was also expected to launch this spring, is unlikely to see daylight at this event because more work needs to be done, sources said.
An interesting discovery made by Twitter user @h0x0d reveals that Microsoft might have delayed the press conference from April to May, probably in an attempt to buy more time to get certain products ready.
The event will also be streamed live online, so users from all over the world will be able to watch Microsoft introduce its new products.
