Apple iOS 11 public beta available now

Apple has just announced that its feature-packed iOS 11 public beta is now available to download.
 
The official release of iOS 11 won't go live until September but this early test version is available to all iPhone and iPad users who sign up to Apple's beta programme.
 
It's worth remembering that, as public beta software has not yet been released to all users by Apple, it will probably contain errors or inaccuracies and may not function as well as commercially released software.
 
And Apple itself strongly recommends installing on a secondary system or device.
 
Most modern iPhones and iPads will work with iOS 11 although if you own an iPhone 5 or 5c (or anything older) you won’t be able to test this new software.

Click Sign Up to kickstart the process, and then create a back-up of your device by connecting it to a computer with iTunes installed.
 
As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you'll then be able to download the latest public beta, as well as subsequent updates, straight from the iOS Software Update.
 
Simply navigate to Settings > General > Software Update to find out whether a new iOS beta is available to download.
 
This latest iOS 11 update is packed with new features including improvements to photography, Siri and Apple Pay.
 
Apple Maps will also get a refresh and a new customisable Control Centre is also included in this blockbuster update.
 
iPad owners are set for the biggest changes as iOS 11 brings a new dock feature which can be filled with your most recent and favourite apps plus iOS 11 helps improve multitasking on this popular tablet.
