Google on Monday officially introduced its new mobile payments app Google Tez in India. From the last few days, there were reports that Google could launch a new mobile payments app in the country. The app is all about letting users connect their bank accounts and make online transactions possible at physical stores.
With the help of Google Tez, users can link up their bank accounts with Tez. Once users have done that, they can transfer money over UPI. Google has also ensured that users’ money remains securely stored in their digital wallet. With that in mind, Google Tez Sheild combines the company’s multi-layer security for secure transactions.
Furthermore, the app has something called Tez Cash Mode. It allows users send or receive payments nearby by eliminating the need to share personal details such as bank account or mobile number at the same time using audioQR technology. Some of the upcoming features of Google Tez include paying through debit and credit cards on Tez. Users can also set reminders for recurring bills like DTH.
“Send money to friends, instantly receive payments directly to your bank account & pay the nearby café with Tez, Google’s new digital payment app for India. Using NPCI’s (National Payments Corporation of India) Unified Payments Interface (UPI), money transfers are simple & secure with Tez,” denotes the Google Play Store.
Google Tez app is designed to work with 7 Indian languages. To make it work, Google has already joined hands with various Indian banks like Axis Bank, HDFC, SBI, and ICICI. Other banks are supported as well. Google has partnered several original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to offer Google Tez pre-installed on their respective handsets.
Google Tez pp is available to download on both Android and iOS. If you are an Android user, go to Play Store and search for the app. Apple iPhone or iPad users, on the other hand, can go to the App Store and do the same thing.
