Note that as a result of measures implemented by Baktelecom within the “Public Internet” project, which was launched on the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the number of connections to the free Wi-Fi service has surpassed 1 million.
In accordance with the “National Strategy for Development of the Information Society in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2014-2020”, which was approved by the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, provision of internet access to all members of the society was defined as a new contour of ICT development in our country.
To this end, along with other infrastructure projects implemented in the ICT sector, a free Wi-Fi service was provided on the territories of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher”, the Seaside National Park, Park of Heydar Aliyev Center, Winter Park, Officers Park, Sahil Garden, Akhundov Garden, Sabir Garden, Khagani Garden, Huseyn Javid Garden, Samad Vurgun Garden, Mughan Garden and Fashion Avenue Park, located between Port Baku Residence and Port Baku Mall.
Work is underway by Baktelecom to increase the number of free internet access points. Installation works in Narimanov Park will soon be completed, and its territory will also be covered with the “Public Internet” network.
Additionally, other parks where lots of people like to spend their leisure time will be also covered with the free internet network by the end of this year.
Note that the rules for using the free Wi-Fi service, which was commissioned in March this year, are very simple. All the user needs is to select Baktelecom from the Wi-Fi list on his mobile device and connect to the internet on the login page in accordance with the instructions.
Dada Gorgud Park is also provided with free Wi-Fi service
Baktelecom continues to expand the coverage area of free Wi-Fi.
