Opera 49 Beta is out now with selfie and snapshot tools

If you've always wanted to take screenshots and selfies in your web browser, you're in luck. A new beta version of Opera is out that lets you do just that.

The Opera 49 beta, released earlier today, is all about sharing. New tools allow you to capture any part of a web page, and add your own personalizations, such as drawings, shapes and even stickers. You can also add selfies using a new editing menu. And since Opera has a built in messenger, just drag and drop your new creation into conversations with friends.

The new tools include:

- Arrow, to draw attention to something
- Blur, to cover anything private or sensitive
- Pencil, to draw directly on the snapshot or underline text.
- Selfie camera, to add a selfie and make it more personal
- Stickers, because emotions spice up your message

In addition to the social features, the update adds O-menu and history improvements, a refined private mode, custom placement for extensions, and VK messenger in the sidebar. Five new currencies have been added to the currency converter, while improvements were also made for macOS High Sierra.
