Baktelecom is broadening the coverage area of the broadband network in Baku

Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) is implementing a number of projects aimed at modernizing the telecommunication infrastructure and expanding the range of services.

The implementation of the last generation wireless communication technology (LTE)   by Baktelecom enables the provision of telecommunication services in the areas with weak infrastructure.

LTE with its data transmission rate of 100 MB /s is considered one of the most promising wireless technologies.

This technology is now being successfully implemented in two areas of Baku as a pilot project. New stations are also being built in the residential areas surrounding Baku.

Thus, residents of the areas with limited communication infrastructure will be provided with internet and other communication services in March 2018.

Implementation of GPON technology is another project which will provide users with high-speed internet.

With the use of this technology, Baktelecom created a necessary infrastructure covering about 30,000 apartments in order to expand the coverage area of the broadband network.  And about 5,000 apartments were provided with GPON technology-based communication services.

The implementation of modern technologies will enable provision of the population with stable and uninterrupted telecommunication services.
