By the end of February 2012 all the stations of Baku Subway will be covered by an Azerfon mobile communication system. Azerfon invested $65 million in upgrading the network in 2011.
The company Nokia Siemens Network is the main partner of Azerfon network on its modernisation programme.
3G services will be available in Baku Subway in early 2012
Azerfon is currently working on installing base points in Baku Subway stations where a 2G and 3G network will become available, informed company.The organisation of services in the metro is of interest to the company, as over 600,000 passengers use this mode of transport daily.
