On 16 December 2011 from 11:30, several Azerbaijani websites encountered cyber attacks.
The attacks also targeted websites hosted in the data center of the Special State Security Service with cert.gov.az domain.
Due to the strong security system and quick action, the hackers couldn’t access the hosting and the system didn’t have any problems. However, seven websites hosted in the system encountered some problems in their activities due to certain gaps.
The interventions were detected and problems of the websites were removed. Note that during the last year, the hosting encountered over 9,000 interventions and all of them were prevented. Relevant state structures continue measures to increase the security of websites of public organizations.
Thus, a draft on "Requirements on the management and formation of Internet information resources of public organizations" were formed and submitted to the Cabinet of Minister for consideration.
Currently, the work is under way to conduct the overall audit of the state websites and adapt them into these requirements.
