The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said the victim phoned the cops and told deputies she left her iPad at the Family Dollar store in Gulfgate Plaza and store manager Veronica Damaso, 23, was acting suspicious when she returned to the store and asked if it had been turned in.
The victim said Damaso claimed not to have the iPad, although the victim saw an object she believed to be her tablet computer behind the counter.
Deputies said Damaso confessed to having the iPad when they asked her for the store’s surveillance footage and told her the device had a GPS tracker.
Damaso was charged with a felony count of grand theft.
Manager arrested for keeping lost iPad
