First round of the Republic Olympiad in Informatics held
The first qualifying round of the “Republic Olympiad in Informatics among university students” was held in Qafqaz University, April 15, 2012. 12 teams from 4 universities gained the right to participate in the final round.
The Olympiad devoted to the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day was held by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education, Institute of Information Technology (IIT). Taking into account the activity of the teams joined from the regions to the Olympiad, which was attended by 45 of the 15 higher education institutions in the first round, this year, 9 teams have been invited to the final competition.
The final stage of the Olympiad will be held on April 29 at the Institute of Information Technologies.
Note that, in our country, "Republic Olympiad on Informatics among university students" for the first time was held in 2007 at IIT of ANAS.
