The fund is used for providing financial support to the talented young Azerbaijani people who are receiving education in ICT and High-Tech departments of the leading universities of the world in line with the ‘State Program for the education of Azerbaijani young people in foreign countries in 2007-2015’. So far, 16 young women receiving training in ICT, have been supported by the fund.
Of them, 10 women have already completed their education. This information was provided to ‘ICTnews’ by an employee of the Ministry of Communications and IT Tarana Safarova. According to her, state programs envisage preparation of cadres in ICT and Information Security as well as improvement of professional skills of people working in these spheres.
As a result of propaganda activities, the number of boys and girls who want to become ICT specialists is growing. Thus, during 2009-2001 80% increase was observed in the number of girls, who studied at the departments training teachers on informatics and mathematics. The number of girls showing interest to computer science, information technologies and systems engineering has also grown by 37%.

The issue of preparation of the national ICT cadres has always been under the focus in Azerbaijan.
