This information was provided to ICTnews by the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the Ministry, since the beginning of 2008 until now ADV deposit accounts have been used for the first time in Azerbaijan for carrying out VAT-related operations.
The “VAT deposit account” alt-system was created in order to prevent VAT avoidance and execute automated control over this field. Introduction of VAT deposit accounts and electronic tax invoices allowed tax administrations to exercise automatic control over VATs, prevent applications of counterfeit tax invoices, create a database on purchased and sold products, control payments made via VAT deposit accounts and improve quality of cameral inspection of VAT declarations.
Quality of cameral inspections improves after introduction of electronic tax invoices
At present, the Automated Tax Information System (ADIS) is used for performing the following operations:- Payment of VAT by tax payers after they make payment for goods and services provided through electronic tax invoices
- keeping records at VAT deposit accounts
- removal of VAT
- substitution of VAT in operations performed through a VAT deposit account
- making transfers to the state budget
