According to the ministry, a new Electronic Professional Educations portal has been launched in this regard. This electronic recourse centre contains necessary information on all directions of professional educations, including electronic books and various multimedia programs such as video files, animation, gallery, training simulator, and etc.
The Electronic Professional Educations portal was created as part of the “State Program for the development of technical and professional education in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2007 -2012”, which aims at building a technical base for providing professional and informal education to citizens, insuring full integration of a new distant education system into the existing technical and professional education system, providing opportunities for citizens to receive continuous and lifelong distant education, increasing the quality of professional education through the application of information and communication technologies, using online testing and monitoring systems to evaluate professional skills and capabilities of students and employees, using an electronic monitoring system to strengthen control of the education process by teachers, parents and school administration.
The program also includes measures aimed at developing effective monitoring and valuation mechanisms, expanding application of modern information and communication technologies in educational institutions, exploring capabilities of modern forms of education such as module and distant educations, application of modern forms of education, allowing employees to receive distant education at their workplaces.
Azerbaijan offers distant education to all social layers of population
Pupils, students and other representatives of different social layers of the population of Azerbaijan have been provided with a new opportunity to either upgrade their professional skills or receive professional training via the Internet.
