Azerbaijani mobile operator Azerfon LLC has a 10-year exclusive agreement with AZAL to render mobile communication services on AZAL aircraft. He added that the AZAL fleet will be equipped with such equipment by late 2012, allowing it to make mobile communication available to passengers.
Previously, AZAL, Azerfon and the Swiss company OnAir announced their intention to launch the first joint project in the CIS to render a full range of communication services on board aircraft. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Communications and IT of Azerbaijan.
AZAL aircraft to be provided with mobile communication in September
